Procedure for Outings

Parents will always be given details of any outings and their signed permission will be obtained before taking children on these outings.

The adult/child ratio will be increased to 1:2 for outings by involving parents/carers (using their own transport). Any staff transport used will have its documentation checked and recorded. Any school buses used will meet the Isle of Wight County regulations. Drivers will be responsible for ensuring all children use the restraints correctly.

A member of staff will have made a pre-visit to the venue to check on the suitability and safety of the visit.

The following items will be taken:-a working mobile phone, relevant records of children and staff, first aid kit, medication, spare clothes , etc. At least one staff car will be available in case of an emergency.
