Your Child's Key Person
Each new child starting with the pre-school is allocated a member of staff as their key person to help the child settle in.

Once parental permission is obtained, the key person will make regular observations of the child's progress and record these in the child's file. It is valuable if you could also add to the observations by verbal or written means. These can be vital to giving an insight into your child outside the setting, and will help to inform planning for your child. These records may be seen by the parents/carers at any time and the parents will be kept informed of their child's progress and any problems discussed. This will enable the key person to modify the curriculum to suit each individual child. All parent/carers can arrange to have a chat with the key person before or after any session. Three times a year we offer a week focus for all to meet with their key person and share the profiles , etc.

These records will be strictly confidential and will not be seen by any other child's parent/carer.

Each child's profile will contain the following:-
-
Child's details, the number and daily sessions attended, written observations, the dates of the meetings with parents and any parental comments.
-
Observation sheets.
-
The child's progress will be recorded.
-
Some examples of the child's work.
