Photo and Video Policy

We ensure that any images taken in the setting are only taken on the settings designated equipment there is only one storage card in the setting in the designated equipment. This is available in the office for all staff to use so all images are able to be monitored by all staff. Any images are only kept until printed out and placed within the setting, uploaded to Tapestry accounts or in the pre-school activity book. Once they have been used they will be deleted from the card and any copies will remain in the setting only. Those images in activity book may remain in the setting after the child has left but will always remain in the settings possession, if no longer needed they will be destroyed on the premises by cross hatch shredder,  so no individual can be recognised. These images may be included in any sharing of information with a child’s second or subsequent setting they are enrolled in, such as school, pre-schools, childminders etc. None of these images will be shared on social media / internet by the setting.

Staff photos and videos for CPD, will be stored within the setting and destroyed once the staff member is no longer in its employ. Photos will be used on pre-school website and displayed in lobby of setting.

Parents, students and all visitors to the setting will also be clearly told of this policy and are asked to put all personal items including ANY image recording devices in the office while they remain on the premises. Signs in the setting clearly state no devices to be used in the setting. This will be accompanied by a verbal reminder on entering the setting.

By agreeing to this policy parents / carers indicates that they are willing to allow other parents / carers to take still and moving images of special events e.g. Christmas concert, sports day outings etc. However as with others they are advised to not include these on the internet / social media sites that contain images of any other children than their own.

All staff have signed and agree to the acceptable use policy overleaf stipulating use of other image recording devices.
